Vision and Mission

Aim

Since 1987, when the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Assam was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee and without share capital, the Association has served the interests of the hotel and restaurant industry. Over the years, it has taken effective steps to encourage, promote, and protect the interests of its member establishments. It aims to render professional assistance from time to time to all its members on topics of vital importance.

Vision

To plan, promote, and protect by lawful means the interests of the hotel and restaurant industry of Assam.

Mission

To secure for the hotel industry its due place in India’s economy and highlight its role as a contributor to employment generation and sustainable economic and social development; to emphasise its crucial role in serving Assam’s tourism industry; to help raise the standards of hoteliering; and to build a strong image for this industry both within and outside the state.

Objectives

  1. To create awareness of the significance of the hotel industry in contributing to the growth of tourism in the state, overall economic development, and employment generation.

  2. To secure for the industry its rightful status as a core infrastructure sector.

  3. To highlight the challenges faced by the hotel industry in Assam and take them up effectively at appropriate levels.

  4. To serve members by establishing a data bank that provides timely information, advisory services, and research support.

  5. To formulate strategies in areas such as land, finance, taxation, training, procedures, and legislation to accelerate growth.

  6. To ensure better services and facilities for tourists and maintain reputable standards in the hotel industry through education and training of members and their employees.

  7. To discourage unfair competition among members, while not interfering with fair enterprise and initiative.

  8. To adjudicate and settle disputes among members whenever its arbitration is jointly requested by the concerned parties.

  9. To liaise with central and state governments and other authorities on issues concerning the hotel industry.

  10. To collaborate with all segments of the hotel industry and apex tourism bodies in Assam, the Northeast, and India to create a common platform.

  11. To help protect and conserve the culture, traditions, and environment of the region.

  12. To work together with other associations or organisations to facilitate the fulfillment of the objectives of the Association.

  13. To contribute to the development of tourism in the region.

  14. To take appropriate legal steps to safeguard and protect the interests of members.
